Fred

I know a picture is worth a thousand words and I really should take a current one of Fred...  At the moment, however, his eyes still need a bit of "tweeking".  So, for now, I'm just going to do my best to explain how Fred managed to become part of the family:

He's only been with us a few years now.  His name is actually Wilfred (the Wizard) and we came real close to having a Winnefred (the Witch) to go with him, but the stores didn't carry the Holloween stuff they had in the past.  So, Fred's still on his own.

He stands about seven feet tall and under the robes, face mask and hat he's actually a skeleton buttler.  The skeleton's head is a bit too big, so the mask doesn't fit as well as it could; which means that the eye sockets are too far from the skeleton's eyes.

Fortunately, I just happen to own a pair of glass eyes and my daughter recently fixed Fred up with them.  Again, they don't exactly fit the sockets just right; so I'll be using some silly putty so they look better.  After that, I'll take a picture and post it.

Before we bought the butler, Fred used to be just a head.  I had the mask on a styrofoam head for wigs with the glass eyes pressed into the styrofoam and, of course, the hat.  All of that sat atop a camera tripod...   The Addams family had "Thing"; we had "Fred", but now he's more like Lurch.
